Nick Fucking Pope!

Every time we play Burnley the bloke has a worldie without fail. I like Areola and Fabianski, but I'd sign and install Pope as number 1 in a heartbeat.
Same again today from him. 3 or 4 top top drawer saves, and swallows crosses under pressure with consummate ease.
Moyes, please find a way to get him on our books.

I would hope that a puff of white smoke is released from a London Stadium chimney when the announcement that Pope Nicholas has signed is made.
As have said before I reckon Fabianski could do another couple of seasons as number 2 & Cup keeper if we signed someone like Pope.
Turned 30 last week so probably at his peak.

Great shot stopper and actually catches rather than punches crosses, not good with his distribution but a very good keeper nonetheless.

FCS, best answer to your point is to sign him in the summer, keep Fabianski as No. 2 keeper.

Pope plays well most weeks for them, he has to. It’s ridiculous he isn’t England number 1, was he even in the last squad. The shit cunt at Arsenal is probably in front of him now.

The reason why Southgate persists with Pickford is that basically he has played really well for England and his distribution with the ball is generally excellent and better than Pope's!
Burnley definitely targeted Fab at corners as they must have perceived this as a weakness, which unfortunately turned out that they were right!

The teams at the top .... Man City (Ederson) Liverpool (Allison) Chelsea (Mendy Man U (DeGea) Arsenal (Ramsdale) Wolves (Sa) Leicester (Schmeichel) are all happy with their keepers
Not sure how much longer Lloris has at Spurs and Newcastle will be looking to spend.
Who besides those last two might be competitors with us for Pope?
He is obviously a very good keeper and turns 30 this week so is probably coming into his peak.

Agree on the budget. In reality Areola at 11m is great value, and just because his PSG wages are 140k per week doesn't mean we have to match it...unlikely anyone else would too.
If we can get Pope for 15m then we should...otherwise lock in Areola and he done with it.

Westside. After the Joe Hart years most here would half good in between the posts for England. When we go crashing out in early December. It will be because Pickford had a brain fart. Or the waistcoat foolishly thinking a Spurs player has the mental toughness to perform for England when it matters.

Pickford, has had two very good tournaments for England. If Pope had played instead, we wouldn't have done any better.

said the same as I was watching the game, all depends on what burnley would want. I'd imagine even with relegation, they'd be asking for £20-25m. I'm not sure we're spending that much on a keeper
